Chocolate Bridal Shower

21 Jun

I recently hosted a bridal shower for a friend who loves peanut butter and chocolate (particularly chocolate fountains!) – perfect for a girl whose wedding colors are brown and gold :)

FOOD

We had 30 women together for an afternoon t0 mingle, eat, and relax – no heavy or messy foods, please! I wanted simple, one- or two-bite finger foods, and sweets only. :) For drinks I served sun tea and lemonade.

It turned out beautifully: elegant enough to feel fancy, simple enough to feel relaxed, and delicious enough to go back for more.

Here are some pictures, recipes to come later:

Mini chocolate-vanilla cupcakes with monogram:

A sort of improvised peanut butter ball, with both semi-sweet and milk chocolate:

I’m calling these “peanut butter pie cups” – an adaptation of a peanut butter pie filling, piped into chocolate cups and sprinkled with graham crackers and chocolate shavings:

Mini vanilla cupcakes with ivory buttercream roses:

Butter-rum-flavored cream cheese candies:

Cream cheese mint calla lilies:

Finally, a chocolate fountain with fruit, marshmallows, angel food cake, coconut macaroons, and… Nutter Butters!

I made this "Bride" shirt and a big gaudy veil for her to wear while she opened gifts :)

Enjoying some sun tea before clean up!

Everything was just amazing! Ali, you went so above and beyond your bridesmaid duties. I tried everything and went back for more of EVERYTHING. Thank you so much, again! Love you! See you soon.

Awww, Ammon, thanks! It really was no problem – I enjoyed every minute of it and was so happy with how it turned out. It was a special day and I’m so glad everyone was there to share it with you!
